I came to know the existence of this Mosque when I migrated to this kampong in July 1977 and the Mosque Management Committee then:-.
Adviser: Haji Adenan. (Ketua Kampong).
Nazir: Pak Long Jantan.
Imam: Ustaz Hashim.
Haji Mat Jebah.
Bilal: Darus Che Ros..
Haji Basir.
Haji Ismail.
Secretary: Haji Mohd Yunus.
Treasurer: YM Raja Sadin.
Committee: Haji Yusuf Daging.
Haji Zainuddin.
Ariffin Mat Nor.
Hajjah Zaharah.
Siak: Haji Kassim.
Except for Imam Haji Mat Jebah, Bilal Haji Ismail and Ariffin Mat Nor, the rest had already gone back to the Almighty.
History created at this Mosque as I was the first kampong resident to hold (Tahlil Arwah) kenduri at my new house after the morning Friday subuh prayer to commemorate the moving in, on Maal Hijrah Day in 1984. It never been done before in the history of the kampong.
The Mosque was expanded during early 90s to accommodate more Jemaah. The minaret had since dismantled sometimes in 2011 as there was sign of collapsing and no necessity to rebuild as the New Mosque is on the verge of completion.
I am most fortunate that the current Mosque is located about 100 steps away from my house and the New Mosque soon completed, is about 500 meters down the road.
I have several fond and sad memories of this Mosque. The saddest when hearing an announcement made from the minaret’s loudspeaker regarding the demise of a co Jemaah who frequent the Mosque or anyone of the kampong residents for that matter.
I had witnessed several “akad nikah” ceremonies and last rite prayers in the Mosque. The most disgusting thing to happen which I witnessed in this Mosque when someone locked the New Mosque Donation Safe. Difference of political ideologies shouldn’t be drag into the House of Allah.
To all those who had contributed their services to the current Mosque and had gone back to the Almighty, “AL FATIHAH” and May Allah bless their souls.
