Klang PAS Commissioner Haji Ismail Arshad defeated at the
kampong level during Kampong Raja Uda Mosque Committee Election for 2012 – 2015
term on 28 April 2012. He garnered only 66
votes against Haji Samsuddin Razak with
99 votes returned. Haji
Samsuddin Razak was the Nazir, pre 2009 – 2012 terms.
The incumbent Nazir and the Treasurer was not even nominated
and the Secretary declined nomination. The incumbent Timbalan Nazir only
returned with 6 votes and out listed
from the three (3) names to be referred to Majlis Agama Islam Selangor.
The kampong kariah attended the election with full force,
just to change and changes what was achieved. During 2009 – 2012 terms, PAS was
given the mandate hoping it would be better than the previous Committee Members
but it turned to be the opposite. Their biggest mistake PAS controlled
Committee did were – ridiculing the former Nazir during Hari Raya speech in the
Mosque, locking the Donation Safes for the New Mosque under construction and
the blatant take over overseeing the New Mosque construction and development.
The Committee was not responsive to any positive criticism/suggestions. The
kariah sentiment was not considered and they managed the Mosque as they please.
The function of Imam 1 as Chairman of Dakwah Bureau was even hijacked and no
due respect bestowed to the Imam concerned. The kariah was watching by the
sidelines and came 28 April 2012 the kariah opted for CHANGE. Don’t blame the
kariah as chances were given.

The moment Haji Ismail Arshad got only 66 votes against
Haji Samsuddin Razak 99, PAS supporters was seen streaming out of the
congregation and the rest of the nominations was plain sailing controlled by
the ordinary kariah who does not belong to any political parties.
The Election process ended about 2330 hrs and we all went
home slept well. I don’t know about PAS Sympathizers.

Kaedah-kaedah Pegawai Masjid Dan Jawatankuasa Kariah (Negeri Selangor) 1995 -
34 (2) (b) Masjid tidak boleh di gunakan sebagai gelanggang politik. (The Mosque cannot be used as a political
arena). The Enactment clearly stated that. The Mosque is the House of Allah
and all kariah should leave their political ideologies at the Mosque gate and
collect them when they leave.
