The workers were sweeping, waxing the flooring and clearing
all rubbish. JKR is coming again on 11 May 2012 for a second inspection.
As I was within the Complex, Tenaga Meter Reader came to
check the reading and he commented that the meter is inside the DB
(Distribution Board) room under lock and key. It would be a work hazard for
Meter Readers and also to the Mosque Committee. Failing access, the readings
would just be estimated and finally when the true reading is obtained, the
amount could be exorbitant. I think he has a point. The Contractor commented
that it was all in the design. I have no further comment. Somebody should
oversee all these minor flaws and make amend during construction or
installation.
Inquisitively I asked the Contractor’s Rep when will be the
handing over. After JKR satisfaction, JKR will pass the New Mosque to
MAIS/JAIS, henceforth MAIS/JAIS will hand over to the Mosque Committee. My
personal opinion appropriately would be in June 2012 when the 2012 – 2015 term
Mosque Committee takes over. The 2012 – 2015 Mosque Committees had been elected
by the kampong kariah except awaiting confirmation of Nazir by MAIS/JAIS.
Though Haji Samsuddin Razak had the most number of votes, the final selection
would still be decided by MAIS/JAIS and the Kampong Chieftain.
To me……physically, the New Mosque is all set to be handed
over to the kampong but I understand there is a minor flaw with the water pump
to the roof water storage tank. It would be sort out within couple of days.
I cannot wait to hear the first call of azan from this New
Mosque. Insyaalah it will be, sometimes in June 2012.
