Last loss 2012.

On 29 December 2012 as I was waiting for the TV3 2000 hrs News Bulletin I got a call from my nephew in Ipoh that my brother Mahmud bin Abdul Hamid answered Allah’s call at 1830 hrs.

Aged 65, Tenaga Nasional retiree, grandfather of two (2) Brother Mahmud passed away at home soon discharged from Ipoh Medical Center. As reported he succumbed to heart attack. He passed away complaining that he felt weak and faded off peacefully.

Soon as I got the shocking news I immediately made a few calls to close relatives to inform about the demise. Over several phone calls with my sister in Ipoh we had several alternatives where the body would be lying in state and finally buried. I made the final decision that the body would stay put in his house at Pengkalan Impian and laid to rest at Pengkalan Pegoh Muslim Cemetary. So happened Tuan Haji Shariman (my roommate during 1999 Haj) called me from Ipoh agreed to arrange and oversee all the prior burial rituals and will make all arrangement and undertake all responsibilities. Without hesitation I accepted and agreed to his gesture.

The family left for Ipoh at 0030 hrs with moderate speed and arrived at my mother’s house at 0330 hrs. The other brothers & sisters had arrived earlier.

We arrived at late Brother Mahmud’s house at 0830 hrs on 30 December 2012 and paid our condolence to his wife and two (2) children. Tuan Haji Shariman was there and I was very confident that everything would be in good hands. Tuan Haji Shariman is a family friend too. I was touched when Mikail aged 3; Brother Mahmud’s grandson sat on my lap thinking that I am his late Grandfather.

Tears were rolling as each of us kissed Brother Mahmud while his body lied motionless and bid final farewell before taken into the hearse.

Ustaz Rahman, Mahmud’s brother in law arranged for the last prayer to be held at Masjid Al Hidayah, Pengkalan Pegoh. Everything went smooth as per schedule.

Brother Mahmud was finally laid to rest at Ipoh Pengkalan Pegoh Muslim Cemetary at 1100 hrs. Thank you, Tuan Haji Shariman and Ustaz Rahman.

I was deeply moved to see my aging mother witnessing her son being buried and surely a great loss to her. My Mother was right at the edge witnessing her son missing from her eye sights. Brother Mahmud often did an errand for her by driving her to the Clinic and wherever she wishes to go. She is going to miss late Brother Mahmud badly as she moaned to me. I comforted her as Allah had wishes so and life has to go on.

Everybody has to go someday, a matter of time. Only Allah knows when.

Al Fathihah.

The End is Near.

The end of 2012 is near and 2013 is just round the corner. The world as speculated by Scientist and the Mayans did not come to an end on 21 December 2012. They have now come with another date. I don’t care whatever date they fix.

2012 – I expected for the General Election and I had made my mind which political party to vote but the GE never materialized. My decision would not deviate at any date Najib decide to hold one. My guess would be after Kong Hee Fatt Choy. Like it or not, it must be held before April 2013.
The Kampong moved to a new less equips Mosque in tandem with the selection of major Committee Members being downplayed by the Ketua Kampong, the Mosque Adviser. The Jemaah selection was blatantly ignored and he chose morons from his political party and his close associates. It is enough that he had divided the kampong, even the Mosque he interfered? That is the House of Allah. No actions were taken of the errant misdoings of 2009 – 2012 Mosque Committees as bird of the same feather flock together.

I spend about forty (40) days away from the country. The usual a month stay in the Holy Land and the rest was in Jordan and Indonesia. I finally saw the Dead Sea and tasted the salinity. The story of the Dead Sea was narrated in the Holy Koran Surah Hud 82. The word sodomy originated from a town called Sodom which Allah drowned into the Dead Sea. Early 2012, I and the wife toured Banda Aceh to see the impact of the tsunami. Though it happened about eight (8) years ago but the remaining of the horrific sights touched my heart. The tsunami impact photographs posted at the Museum is a horrible sights to see and syukur alhamdullillah Malaysia is way off from the Ring of Fire. I was in Pekanbaru Indonesia late November and met friends whom last met about ten (10) years ago. I enjoyed the jengkol and daging dendeng.

Major renovation made at first floor of my double storey terrace house. The parquet flooring was removed due to termite attack and replaced with ceramic tiles. It drained quite an amount from the pocket.
The surprise of the year – my BP 16 car number plate was finally sold at an undisclosed amount. This car was last abandoned in 1976 at a Workshop somewhere in Johore Baharu and I left it to rot. Someone traced the ownership and I was tracked. I don’t need the number anyway and I have no more sources to purchase a new car. So be it, closed my eyes and settled with the negotiated amount. Frankly, the price of the car was cheaper than the number plate.

The most hated event of the year - Bersih Rally and the Students PTPN standoff at Dataran Merdeka. I support clean and peaceful demonstrations but would not condone when it turned violent and/or resisted the Authorities. This country has laws and every citizens of the country must abide to it. If anyone is unhappy about the law of the country he or she is free to migrate wherever he/she wishes. If democracy in Indonesia is better, just take the ferry, the cheapest mean or Air Asia for that matter and piss off. In Indonesia you can demonstrate and changing your identity every other day.

Loss of the year – the most prominent was my Esso working days buddy, Haji Mustaffa Che Din. Regret I was unable to bid farewell as he demised in Nibong Tebal, Seberang Perai. I knew him since 1966 when he was my senior at Esso Refinery. Was a good story teller, (sometimes bullshitted his way) and really enjoyed his company. I also lost Mat Munir, my sparring partner when I was working at Pasir Gudang Johor 1974 – 1977.

Health wise – It was not too bad as I was hospitalized for two (2) days on personal request. My BP went crazy, fluctuating and I need a good rest to recuperate and to stabilize. I had been watching my diet meticulously, avoiding roti canai and salted dry fish.

I am looking forward to a good year 2013, with good health and no harassment from anybody. I will continue going to places I have never been. May Allah protect this humble soul and the country thee live. Insyaalah. You live you’re way and I live mine. TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN - You have problem, solve it yourself as I have been solving mine all these years all alone.

HAPPY NEW YEAR, 2013.

Shasha in control.

I bought the RC Car in 2004 way before she was born. Had been hibernating in the cabinet and yesterday took it out, recharged the battery and to my astonishment the RC Car is functioning as it was in 2004.

I tutored Shasha how to operate and in no time she is an expert. She can even do the drag. It was the first time she was exposed to a radio controlled car and she was full of excitement. It was fun watching her giggling away.

I promised her to get a better and a heavy duty model, the next time we go out shopping.

Next year in 2013 Shasha will be in Standard 1. Time certainly flies.

Corruption/ Civil Servants/ Chinese.

Source: Warisan Tanah Melayu Kita.

QUOTE:

Malays or Chinese CONTRIBUTED MOST to Corrupt Practices – Comparison between Malaysia and People’s Republic of China

Many of us must have been tickled by a statement made by one of newly-appointed Vice-Presidents of DAP, Dr. Ariffin C.M. Omar, blaming the ‘monopoly’ (using his words) of Civil Service by the Malays for CORRUPT PRACTICES in the country. I believe that, the ‘hidden’ message in the statement was, should more Chinese be admitted to the Civil Service, the country will be managed better and there will be less corruption.

Before we find out whether there’s any grain of truth in the statement, let me point out that until very recent past, until last couple of years, generally, the Chinese looked down on employment in Civil Service due to its low pay. Least attractive to them were employment in security-related services like the military and the police force.  Chinese graduates were more tempted to find employment in Chinese-dominated private sector which offered much more attractive pay. Thousands of them even opted for employment overseas after finishing their studies, where salaries are paid in British pounds, Singapore dollars, American dollars, or Australian dollars.

Despite such circumstances which gave rise to Malays dominating the Civil Service, the opposition parties are inclined to inciting hatred among the non-Malays, in particular the Chinese, towards the UMNO and BN Government, by claiming that entrance of non-Malays into Civil Service were much restricted and the non-Malays were victims of discrimination. It’s very surprising that Dr. Ariffin is not aware of those circumstances before making such sweeping statement.

More surprising, Dr. Ariffin must be unaware that the Transparency International(TI) had published its latest findings on corrupt practices across the world,  and had listed Malaysia well above People’s Republic of China in its 2012 ‘Corruption Perception Index(CPI)’. The listing involved 176 countries, and the countries were listed based on scales ranging from 100(most clean) to 0(most corrupted). The latest listing put Malaysia at No.3 among ASEAN countries and No.54 worldwide with a score of 49, while China was placed at No.80 with a score of 39.

This means, a country called People’s Republic of China, with 95% of its 1.2 billion populations are Chinese, is one of the more corrupted countries in the world!!! Since the ‘diaspora’ of Chinese all over the world originated from the Mainland China, such despicable ranking of China in the CPI tells us a lot about the level of corrupt practices among the Chinese, regardless of which part of the world they have migrated to.

What’s then the basis of Dr.Ariffin’s ‘most stupid assumption’ that the Malays ‘monopoly’ of the Civil Service is the reason for corrupt practices in the country? Are the Malays running the Civil Service in China too….that China is listed well below Malaysia?? In fact, without the open secret ‘under-table’ role of Chinese businessmen in Malaysia, Malaysia could have been listed 20 positions above the present No. 54.

It is obvious that only a few ‘stupid Malays’ are attracted, or even paid,  to join DAP, and that only such fools are prepared to be used as ‘window dressing’ for DAP,  to hide their grudges, hatred and ill-intentions against the Malays.

UNQUOTE:

Yours truly recently got a call from Pandamaran DAP Office to come to their Office to collect RM 100 voucher. What? You think I am that cheap? I virtually told the lady at the other end to f off.

I was 23 when May 13. MELAYU INI TAK MUDAH LUPA.

67 Today.

I am six (6) decade and seven (7) years today. The journey to the Tombstone is getting nearer.

On 17 December 67 years ago while the British about to rejuvenate Malaya after the Nippon and the Bintang Tiga wrecked this country, I eagerly entered the world at the break of dawn, without the aid of the Bidan (Nidwife). It was in a kampong where there was no such thing as pipe water and electricity. I grew up in that environment until I was fifteen (15).

Today…..67 years later, Allah still give me the space in this world and provide me with pipe water and electricity. It is more than that, a car to move around, brick house to live equip with porcelain bowl to shit and a computer to ramble my journey and thoughts. Allah also blesses me with a caring wife and two (2) independent children as I was. The only setback I do not breathe the same none polluted air as 67 years ago and the vice that I cannot discard is my friend Mr. Benson & Hedges.

There were ups and down as I thread the 67 years journey. I believe in my way and I did it my way. Regret? Cannot be undone and too many to mention. I always scared when I recollect the jahiliyah era. Allah is merciful and alhamdullillah with His hidayah, ih dinas siro thal mustakim, I recovered in time. Grace Be Upon Him.

To those who send Birthday greetings, thank you very much. It is made simple by sms and the thoughts that count.

My only hope as I go on living insyaalah, is to see my country peaceful where all living soul living in perfect harmony where everybody can enjoy life within the prospective of the Law.

Doomsday on 21 December? Don’t believe it. It is syirikh. Doomsday is Almighty Allah prerogative.
