.
Main structure of the Mosque and the Multi Purpose Hall is already in place. Work on VIP Lounge, wuduk room and washrooms is in progress. The work on the "mehrab" and "mimbar" would commence soon.
.
Insyaalah, provided weather permit, by February 2011 the construction would be fully completed. Within these four (4) months "those people concern" should plan about equipping the Mosque. This is the best time to start a new inventory. Political idealogies should be put aside and all heads must come together as this is a House of Allah.

Was I a Broker?

Got a call from Wahab all the way from Kampong Gajah Perak and the instruction was to drive to Banting, name and address given and my task was to get the guy telephone number. Reason – the guy wanted to sell off five (5) acres of swampy land and Wahab is interested. I asked Wahab what the hell he wants a swampy land for. To start a crocodile farm, he laughed.

After inquiring from the Policeman where the exact location was, I got to the place but the guy wasn’t in. I managed to speak to the wife and she knows about the sale. After exchanging telephone numbers I left the place and went for lunch at the nearby Restaurant. Before that I spoke to Wahab that mission accomplished and I transmitted the guy phone number to him.

In the midst of the lunch the guy called and I confirmed about my visit to his residence and he told me Wahab had called him of his intention. I specifically told him I was just doing a favor for a friend and I don’t seek for brokerage fees if the deal ever goes through. The guy appreciated my frankness.

Reaching home I called Wahab what transpired between him and the guy. Deal closed at RM 63,000.00 for five (5) acres of swampy land. That fast? I am happy that I have done Wahab a favor and it was done within a span of about three (3) hours. The only favor I wanted him to reciprocate is for him to visit me at Port Klang when he closed the deal financially.

Come to think about it……….there is something special where friendship breeds in Mekah. Allah will bless and pave the way provided sincerity at heart. Before Ramadan 2010, I don’t know who Wahab is but our friendship developed when we were roommates for a month. This Wahab fellow has only one kidney left and I used to ask him what the latest melodrama at the Hotel Lobby was. He got a lot to tell, a story teller which often cheered me up.

I am not a Broker.

Malaysian Malaysia.

Yeah......I like this. Dr Hatta of PAS hanging on the banner of DAP near the Parliment House. Showing the true spirit of Pakatan?

Que sere sera.............what will be will be, the future not ours to see. We may not be able to see but we can use our brain to pave the way for the future.

I do it MY WAY.

Two missions on one go.

I was invited to attend a kenduri at 1100 hrs by Nordin Husni as he would be leaving for Haj on 04 November 2010 but I had another invitation all the way from Staffield Country Home at Semenyih. I chose Staffield as I can meet Nordin anytime before he step on to the Holy Land since he is around in Klang. Datin Zainab, the wife of late Dato Ismayudin Manan invited me and wife to attend the twin ceremonies - tahlil of late Dato Ismayudin Manan and aqiqah of her Grandaughter Hannah Jasmine Khairil Anwar between 1200 hrs to 1600 hrs.

As Farid and wife were also invited we decided to go together and I drove up to Bukit Damansara for the rendezvous. We arrived at Staffield at about 1330 hrs and the first tahlil session was over. Datin Zainab and son Khairil Anwar welcome our attendance and we were shown to the Buffet table. It was very kind of Datin Zainab to include both of us, Farid and I plus the wife included in the invitee list apart from all her relatives. We specially noticed that only the two of us were the ex Guthrien. We were very close with the late Dato and we often visited him towards the last few months of his life.

My wife also met Retired Custom Officer Harun who was her former office colleague and the brother in law of Datin Zainab. They got themselves involved with their former colleagues latest news and where about.

At about 1430 hrs, I joined the second tahlil session. We thanked the host, Datin Zainab and Khairil Anwar as we have other mission to accomplish.

At 1600 hrs we were back at Bukit Damansara and promised Farid that insyallah we would be back on 30 October 2010 at his residence for the solat jemaah Magreb and followed with kenduri as he and wife would also be leaving for the Holy Land on 07 November 2010. I am very pleased that one by one of my friends are going to be a Haji.

I then moved from Jalan Setiamurni to another part of Bukit Damansara , Jalan Setiabistari area to meet little Abas for the very first time. Little Abas was born on 11 October 2010, the son of lrman and the Grandson of Dato Malek Ahmad, my cousin. Abas is the latest addition of Imam Todek family tree which is also of mine. I am glad Irman just gave him a simple name of Abas and he was circumcised three days after birth. Abas’s mother, Nada is still in the Hospital as she is having a slight complication of her caesarian operation. Datin Zawiyah the Opah is attending closely to Abas. Abas for the very first time was introduced to meet the Granduncle and I was very happy to meet the cute little innocent baby when he opened his eyes for a moment to say hello maybe. I hope he will grow up as Allah fearing human being and successful on all his ventures.

Sad story.

I buried my childhood buddy Naburi Idin on 03 October 2010 when he passed away suddenly on 02 October 2010.

On 18 October 2010, seventeen (17) days later, Naburi’s mother Hajjah Hasiah binti Ngah Aminah (name recited during the talqin) also passed away in her sleep at her Grandson Karl Helmy house at Kota Damansara. Perhaps she was too grieved to take the sudden demise of her eldest and remaining son. I got a short message from my brother Amran just after the isyakh prayer at the Mosque and quickly contacted my niece in Ipoh to confirm the sad news.

I knew this lady since 1963 when I started befriending her son, Naburi Idin. It was at their house that my elder brother met Naburi’s cousin sister and they finally tied the knot. I became closer to the family by my brother’s marriage.
.
To Karl Helmy, Khairul and Nazatul, the family extends our deepest condolence for the demise of their Daddy and Grandmother within a span of seventeen (17) days. Allah loves them more.

I attended the funeral on 19 October 2010 and she was buried a few plots away from her son at the same Cemetery at Section 9 Kota Damansara Muslim Graveyard. My sister in law and nephew came all the way to pay their last respect.

May Allah bless her soul and Alfathihah……………..

Historic day.

18 October 2010 the Dome (kubah) and the mini Dome at the Minaret of the New Mosque was installed. The day started at about 0900 hrs where Imam Jaafar recited the “doa selamat” and followed with a small reception. Though I was personally invited by the Site Engineer I beg to decline due to certain circumstances.
.
Pre installation.
.
Both Domes were located at the Courtyard, fabricated on site.

One 160 tonner crane was mobilized to carry up the 2.8 ton Dome. This crane was required due to the extensions as the Dome was place at the courtyard. The Dome was in place at 1425 hours.

Comment.

Weather was fine all the way even though it was raining heavily just before subuh. With the installation of the Domes the under construction structure truly portrayed a Mosque and make all passerby head turn. I am really proud of it and it would be a landmark of Port Klang and Kampong Raja Uda in general. The sweat, the pain and the obstacles of the former New Mosque Development Committee slowly paid off. I remember how difficult it was to acquire the land, the landfill and the collection of funds. I thank the Main Contractor Kompass Bina, the Site Engineers, the Dome Contractor and all those involved for the hard work they rendered during the installation. It was not an easy job as precision and safety was the call of the day. Well done everybody, only Allah can pay you off.
Job Done.

The evening sun glitters the Domes.

Extra Landfill.

How many lorry load? Estimate please.
.
The extra landfill at KRU New Mosque construction site had been transferred to the Kampong Graveyard reserve plot.
.
This is how the story started:

Way back in August 2003 the New Mosque Development Committee decided to landfill the approved site of the New Mosque so that those who willingly contribute can share Allah blessing in cooperation of building a Mosque. “Allah will provide a similar House in Paradise to those who assist in building a Mosque”. Quotation was called and all Committee Members including yours truly agreed to the chosen.
.
1000 lorries @ RM 115 were agreed, inclusive of land clearing, culvert, Checker, supervision and levelling.

Sometimes in October 2003 the quotation was disputed and alleged that the quantity of landfill per lorry was below specification and the costing per lorry was unreasonable. 769 lorries were delivered at RM 115 per lorry and the balance of 231 lorries were negotiated to RM 100 per lorry. Payment to the Supplier was interrupted as one of the signatories refused authentication. Decision had to be made as Aidilfitri was around the corner and the Supplier pledged to donate to the Mosque certain percentage of the profit. The service of the so call gentleman who refused to sign the check payment was replaced.
.
Somehow.......one Contractor could come out with RM 65 per lorry including levelling. What about land clearing? That make one party suspicious of the other and...............

....................That’s how the WAR started in Kampong Raja Uda. Personal vendetta play the role where B going after A throat. Two camps emerged in the Kampong and the chaotic exist up to this date. Vengeance is the evil of Satan.

Now the New Mosque is nearing completion and with the grace of Allah the Contractor found out that the landfill is now in excess. The best option is to transfer the extra to the Graveyard reserve plot so that those who contributed (sedekah) on the New Mosque landfill would continue be blessed by Allah on their good deed.

Is it worth the dispute?

Allah is Great……. Allah Hu Akbar!!!!

The antics of Shasha.

Photo taken on 16 october 2010 after attended a wedding.
.
She had grown up in front of our eyes from a one year old girl to a four year old now. She is the General in the house, always get on her way and overrule everybody. Pampered but discipline her. Her laughter is the best music to my ears and her presence will turn the house upside down with her several playthings and teddy bears. Obediently when done she keep her things in the box for her next return. Her parents have no fear as Shasha is guaranteed in the safe hand when she is with us. We never let off our eyes on her as sometimes she can be cheeky. The lipstick is her favorite and she would color up her lips. Over feeding the fishes in the aquarium is a must by using the portable ladder. Several things which is detrimental to her safety had to be hidden from her sights.

She is a Darling.

The reciprocal.

It was at Dewan Sebaguna Jalan Wangsamaju 21 where it was the bridegroom’s parent turn to hold a reception for the newlywed son and welcoming the daughter in law to the family clan. Sunday, October 10, 2010. No problem finding the place as the road signage at the Duke Highway is far more than adequate.
Arrival of the Pengantin.

The bersanding.

To upkeep the Perak tradition, “rendang tok” was specifically prepared in addition to the Caterer’s menu. Teh tarik and bubur pulut hitam came handy while we talked about golf to the number of grandchildren. It was also the meeting of “senior citizens” comparing the color of each others’ hair and eyesight.

The senior citizens.

It was as per normal Malay wedding reception and more of the family members attended from the far off kampong. I was surprised to meet my good friend Nordin Husni from Klang at the function who happens to be the cousin by marriage of my cousin brother. Relatives as far as Bota also attended.

Tuan Haji Ghaffar Hashim - the most senior among the seniors.

Brother Amran came with stunning red baju melayu. Merah sangat Mak Ngah? The niece wanted to remember the occasion as both of them were in red. We all laughed as they posed. That is family all about.

Merah sangat, Mak Ngah.

Going back home the Highway was straight forward and by 1530 hrs we were all back to base.
