37th. Wedding Anniversary.

Goodness me! I did not realize that 28 April 2010 was our 37 wedding anniversary. Only when my daughter came from the Office she congratulated the Mama.

Thirty seven years ago it happened at Telok Panglima Garang, Kampong Simpang on the way to Carey Island. I was twenty seven (27) and she was twenty five (25) when we decided to tie the knot. We met at Port Dickson Negri Sembilan as we were both working there.
.
The bridegroom entourage headed by late Cik Gu Haji Said Osman and wife late Hajjah Azizah Yusuf (the niece of late Pendita Zaaba). We made a stopover at my late uncle’s residence at Jalan Raya Barat Klang, Dato Haji Ghazali Abdullah the Mufti of Selangor. My late father, brother Amran and my KL friends joined us at my uncle’s residence. After light refreshment and immediately after Maghreb the convoy took the Klang Banting road. I remember Haji Mohd Shah Hamzah drove me in his Volvo 144 and my best man was Haji Malek Hussein now a Datuk.

28 April 1973 was only the “akad nikah” ceremony and it was made simple by my in laws. I was fortunate that I had the Mufti of Selangor with me as I was confronted with a small technical problem. The confirmation letter stating that I was a bachelor from the Kadhi’s Office in Port Dickson was accidently left behind at Port Dickson. During normal circumstances, that letter must be produced to the Kadhi or the Naib Kadhi before the “akad nikah” ceremony can proceed. The Telok Panglima Garang Naib Kadhi, Tuan Haji Arshad looked at my uncle the Mufti of Selangor and the Mufti gave his assurance that the letter would be handed the following day. The ceremony proceeds as planned and what a relieved.

Tuan Haji Arshad took my hand and solemnly recite the “akad nikah” and with one saying (lafaz) yours truly passed through and the witnesses declared valid. I think no one dared to contest as the Mufti was right in front of me. Whatever, I answered the “ijab kabul” loud and clear and I forgot how many times I had practiced over and over the verses to be said.

Dinner was served and the main attraction was fresh water prawns (udang galah) from the nearby Sungai Langat. My best man, Malek Hussein was enjoying the “hidang pengantin” (bridegroom dinner) and poor me, I had to control my urge and my stature as many eyes were focusing on me.
.
One year later, on 1 April 1974, we were blessed with the first child and about a year later 27 June 1975 with the second and factory ceased production.
.

Thirty seven (37) years of up and down but we remain intact. We went through good and bad times and we are still sharing the same bed and bathroom. I had proven a lot of people wrong. I hope to see the golden jubilee, insyaalah (GOD willing).

Blue background.

28 April 2010, a sunny warm and bright day. As I came back from town at about 1500 hrs while entering the porch I saw the minaret with a beautiful blue and white cloudy background. I grabbed the camera walked across the street and I snapped the beautiful scenery of the new Mosque minaret under construction. It was taken right across the street of my house. The focal point is about 200 meters away.

I recorded the event for all to share and admire the beauty.

As of today, the New Mosque with the newly appointed Chairman had not convened any Meeting. Surely those relevant had come back from Hulu Selangor. The fact that their comrade bit the dust in the election make them more sore and further delay is imminent.

I think there would be no Meeting and the episode would drag on aimlessly. As it is, I don’t see any reconciliation between the parties concern. The New Mosque Notice Board is still being kept in the Meeting Room. The public knows nothing about the progress.

Bottom line, who would be affected? The kampong residents had been looking forward for a new Mosque since the early 2000 from the tenure of the late Ketua Kampong Haji Adenan Chik and Nazir, late Haji Jantan Ismail (Alfathihah for them). After Haji Adenan Chik the Ketua Kampong was Encik Mat Nor Katim and Haji Bakar Bachok. They were all during BN era, UMNO appointee and the present Ketua Kampong is DAP appointee. The Ketua Kampong is automatically the Adviser and to be one he must be non partisan as the former had done. The Ketua Kampong would be the main personality to straighten things out, not otherwise.

The New Mosque construction is going on progressively within the fenced wall and the prominent structure accessible to public eye, only the minaret. The rest is beyond and my own initiative to record the pictures would be archived as history of the New Mosque. Perhaps those who know the existence of this blog can share my intention. It is for public eye and information. I am not paid to do the job and for my time. My nawaitu (intention) is solidly for the benefit of all.

This is the problem when someone associates “Mosque” with “Politic”. Almighty Allah would not ask you which political party you belong to. Allah would only ask you how much you have contributed towards your religion as a Follower of Islam and a Servant to Allah during your lifetime.

My daily doa in prayer that Allah would bestow “hidayah” to all concern, including yours truly.

Hulu Selangor.

Parliamentary election on 25 April 2010 (Sunday). Straight fight between two political parties in Malaysia. MIC of BN and PKR of PR.

MIC.

Kamalanathan obtained 24987.

PKR.
Dato Zaid Ibrahim obtained 23272.

and the Winner is.................

by 1725 votes.
Once quoted by Tun Mahathir: " One vote majority, I still win".
.
.
Voters composition at Hulu Selangor:
Malays - 34020 (52.70%).
Chinese - 16964 ( 26.30%).
Indians - 12453 ( 19.30%).
.
.
Hulu Selangor was last won by Pakatan Rakyat during General Election 12 with slim majority of less than 200 votes.
.
.

Kamalanatan was unknown, new kid on the block and Dato Zaid Ibrahim, ex Minister in the Prime Minister Department who resigned to join Parti Keadilan Rakyat a component of Parti Perpaduan Rakyat (PR).
.
.

Now that the people of Hulu Selangor had returned BN to Parliment, my aspirations all the component Parties in BN to open their eyes and make ammends. The people are slowly reviving their trust and BN should prove that they are heading to a progressive 1 Malaysia. I know it is not easy to please everbody. Ah Chong is not happy that Ali got the Government Contract and Muniandy is angry that his A/L is jobless. At the same time, Haji Mat cannot see Dato Anjang driving a Mercedes Mata Belalang. If everybody is a Millionaire, who is going to sweep the street?
.
.

At the moment I belong to no political party. Wait and see. What I want, I am free to walk in the street, solat in peace at the Mosque, teh tarik once in a while at the warong and my children can go to their Offices and earn their living honestly. Dont disturb me, I am retired. I had given enough to the country eventhough I never served the Government of Malaysia. I am still grateful to the past and present Government and my religion teach me to be grateful. If you own a fleet of cars, staying in big mansion, having several wives, drinking at the Club, patronising the race courses and holidays overseas, I dont care less. You break the law, you answer for yourselves ultimately.

The New Mosque is going to be a masterpiece of Port Klang and it is going to be a landmark. The most beautiful building structure in Port Klang. Each and everyone who contribute even one cent or in any form or kind to the standing of this House of Allah would be bless with the same kind of House at Allah Jannah (Paradise) insyaalah.
.
.
The New Mosque is taking shape at a very good pace and the weather had been kind off late. Insyallah it would be ready by the year end. With Allah blessing, the New Mosque possibly can be use for solat Aidiladha.
.
.
What is actually slow, in fact stagnate is the New Mosque Development Committee. On 31 March 2010, the Chairman had been appointed by JAIS from the present Mosque Committee and as of today, the Chairman has not call for a Meeting. The question is where is the Meeting going to be held? Will the Nazir allowed the New Mosque Development Committee convening its first Meeting with the appointed Chairman at the existing Mosque Meeting Room? Past Meetings was held at the Orang Besar Daerah Meeting Room as the Nazir disallowed the New Mosque Development Committee to meet at the existing Mosque Meeting Room. On the ethical aspect, yours truly beg to abstain. Now with the Hulu Selangor bye election, the Mosque Adviser and the appointed Chairman could be very busy at Hulu Selangor and most unlikely any Meeting would be held within these coming few days.
.
.
There are plenty of things to be address in preparation to equip the New Mosque. The main agenda for a meeting is to formalize Minute of Meeting in agreement to transfer all the New Mosque funds held by the New Mosque Developement Committee to JAIS as Trustees. The Directive was from JAIS. The Banks would not formalize any fund transfer to anybody without authentications. Concern parties should treat this agenda as top priority. The former Chairman who had been relegated as Vice Chairman has no authority to call for a Meeting anymore. Therefore, the ball is in now in their court and it’s up to them to be sensible enough to speed up or to slow and frustrate all the Kampong residents, except of course to the delight of PAS Members and I think not all.
.
.
As yours truly had said earlier, he leave the episodes in the good hands of Almighty Allah. Human plan and Allah destined and for all that’s happening there is an “iktibar” behind it.
