Rafael tarnished English pride,

Manchester United 4.

Bayern Munich 4.
(proceed to the road to Madrid).

The night ended with MU 3 Bayern Munich 2.

The second leg of European Cup Quarterfinal between Manchester United and Bayern Munich at Old Trafford televised live at early morning 08 April 2010. Bayern Munich travelled away with 2 – 1 advantage and MU had an away goal advantage.

Rooney was a surprise inclusion with a right ankle injury. On the third minute MU was one up by Gibson and by the thirty first, MU were three up with Nani hit the net twice. Nani first goal was superb, back right leg flick into goal. It was a replica of Ronaldo. Nani second goal was a thunder shot from outside the penalty box. The score line read MU 4 and Bayern 2. Somehow toward the end of the first half, Olic of Bayern managed to sneak in a goal from an acute angle and the first half ended with 3 – 1. It was a stupid defense. The first half was the best of MU, I had seen for a long time. MU meant business and they went for goals. That’s what I want to watch where football as concern. The first half ended with the aggregate stood as MU 4 Bayern 3. Still shaky for MU.

During the second half, Rooney was pulled out, not to aggravate his injury and Berbatov replaced him. Then, the most unfortunate thing happened. Rafael got his second yellow card with most stupidity and red carded. The sent off silent the Old Trafford. MU had to play the rest of the game with ten men. The tempo of the game changed and Bayern was in complete control as they needed just one more goal. MU defenses cracked and Robben got the one more goal needed by Bayern. Though the score line was MU 3 Bayern 2, the aggregate stood as MU 4 Bayern 4. However, Bayern had two away goals advantage whereas MU had only one.

The rest of the game, Bayern was just defending and trying to put in more goals and MU with only ten men tried to penetrate but Bayern defended well on the intermittent onslaught. The last whistle blew with Bayern Munich qualified for the semi final. MU won the night but failed to advance defending the title as Champion of the European Football Club. The last of the English Football Club was shown the way out by Bayern Munich. If Rafael was not red carded it was a different ball game. The Club the English last hope to maintain their pride was simply tarnish by young boy Rafael.
