The coming Ramadan.

It is not far off. With the blink of an eye, the month of Ramadan is around the corner. Muslims regard it as the best month of the year with full of Allah blessings. In the month of Ramadan, Almighty Allah ascended the Al Quraan for the faithful followers and bestowed the night of Lailatulkadar who submit to the teaching of the Holy Prophet Mohammed pbuh.

Ramadan will begin sometimes on 11 August 2010 depending on the sighting of the moon. I am always excited about Ramadan, the month full of sacrifices and patience to test every Muslim “taqwa” to Almighty Allah. I look forward to this coming Ramadan as I tentatively would be spending the whole of Ramadan in the Holy Land again, insyaalah. As years goes by, the expenditures to the Holy Land during Ramadan is escalating and 2010 is no exception. Hotel rooms in Mekah is getting scares and extremely expensive as most Hotels had been demolished to make way for major cosmopolitan and modern infrastructural development around the Grand Mosque of Masjidilharam.

I had to dig from my coffer scavenging every ringgit available and recalling friendly soft loan to expense the 2010 journey. Supplement coming from my kids to the Old Man usually a bonus. This time around I browsed the internet meticulously in search for the cheapest Travel Agency available. Haji Bakir my buddy from Melaka respectively exchanged information seeking for the most affordable and reasonable Agency within our budget.

We finally found one, settled and booked with Al Mukminin Travel. The journey would take a detour through Cairo Egypt by Egypt Air and leaving three (3) days prior Ramadan. Though I had toured Cairo, I don’t mind seeing the Pyramids and visit the scenic seafront of Alexandria by the Mediterranean Sea again. It is inclusive in the package anyway. Haji Bakir who had not step foot in Cairo was keen on the schedule program. Comparatively the total cost is cheaper than the other Travel Agencies that I had patronized before and we opted for Al Mukminin Travel. Haji Adenan, my neighbor will join us during the last half month of Ramadan. The threesome had planned our presence at the Kaabah during Ramadan since 2007. That’s the beauty of our friendship. My late father used to say, “You can have thousands of friends but only befriended those who are really call friend”. I always remember that.

The prime reason where Haji Bakir and I would be traveling companion is because our families are intimately close and whatever happen to any of us the communication back home would be made easier. We normally take care of each other welfare and remind each other at the Holy Land.

Insyaalah on 8 August 2010 very early in the morning the Egyptian mechanical bird will fly us non stop to Cairo and we will hop into Saudi Arabia and the Holy Land on 11 August 2010 to welcome the Ramadan. The first “sahor” most probably would be in Cairo. This time around I will travel light with light pocket too. Except for “zam zam” water and the fresh Medina dates, the rest is imported into Saudi Arabia. Going to the Holy Land is for “ibadah” not for a shopping spree. The Hotel allotted to us is Menazzil Al Raed, a three star facing the Royal Palace wall. I can’t afford Hilton, Continental, Zam Zam and Orchid Tower Hotel which is right at the fringe of the Grand Mosque. That would cost me a fortune.

Without fail I must get myself inoculated preventing undesirable diseases affecting my not so perfect body. The whole world is congregating in Mekah during Ramadan and preventing is better than cure. Allah says “don’t throw one self into unnecessary disaster”. Preparation is to the minimal as I have all the things ready and in place from the previous Ramadan.

Insyaalah, would be celebrating Aidilfitri in Mekah and would be back in homeland after Aidilfitri. I pray (doa) to Allah for safe journey and the Almighty knows what I am doing and my “nawaitu”. It is He who is the best Judge, the most compassionate. Allah destined the journey and Allah that guide the humble soul to “siratulmustakim” (the path of truth).

The Shrine of the Holy Prophet pbuh and the Holy Kaabah, here I come. I seek peace in my humble soul to prepare for my ultimate journey to meet the Almighty when summon upon.

Anyway I can only plan and program. Only Allah can destine the motive.

The World Cup - South Africa.

It is now in the sixteen (16) knockouts round. The most interesting part after the extra thirty minutes, there would be penalty kick. A winner must be established.

The second game starts at 0230 hours in the morning. Most people wake up to watch the match live either at home or any other place where a big screen would be set up to make watching the game more lively. There a lot of medical leaves followed and the private clinics are harvesting deriving from the World Cup.

At the Mosque, the ceramah ugama also include about the World Cup. Muslims can wake up and watch the game live but fail to perform the solat tahajud and tasbih during the last third of the night. Shouts of goal can be heard from houses rather than a silent prayer to Allah at the wee of the morning. The problem is the one who watch the game live do not attend the ceramah ugama and the message does not go to them.

A Retiree like me is fortunate for I don’t have to go to work and need not worry about sleepy eyes at workplace. I watch the second game at 0200 hrs in the morning, when the game over I stay awake and waited for subuh. After subuh, have my breakfast and hit the sack until zohor. World Cup comes around once every four years and it is cheap thrill and entertainment for me. I just have to prepare hot drinks and snack while the game is being played somewhere in South Africa and beam direct into my bedroom.

My prediction: Brazil and Argentina will meet in the final.

I don’t care whoever wins. I just love watching the spill and thrill someone dribbling or rocketing the ball into the opponent’s net. It reminds me of my school boys days where rain or shine we kicked each other shins and legs splashing barefooted through pool of water and muddy field to be Ghani Minhat of the day.

2014, the next World Cup would be held. Maybe I am not around anymore to see the game but I surely recommend that video to be use to decide what’s going on in the field. The Referee and his Assistant eyes would be not able to get the glimpse what actually happen within seconds. By eletronic media the game would be fair to all.

Being a long time since.......

Friday, 25 June 2010 – it had been a long time since the Nazir took the mike and spoke to the congregation before the Friday prayers. I still remember the last solat Aidilfitri when he was booed and asked to abrupt his speech.

This time around he announced about the sunat parayer of the eclipse of the moon, Palestine donation, Saham Zakat Selangor and one ceramah Perdana somewhere. He never touched on deregistration of the Kampung Khairat Kematian and the takeover by the Mosque Development Bureau of the New Mosque Development Committee. These updates should be publicized to all the kampong residents.

The fact that he dare not announce about deregistration because he is the Treasurer of the deregistered Khairat Kematian. Being a Treasurer of the Badan since 2002, he could not table a proper account statement for 2003 - 2008 during 2009 Annual General Meeting and the AGM were suspended and never reconvened. Registration of Society deregistered the Badan. Whatever he is still accountable for the account statement. His credibility on finance is questionable as he had sworn in the name of Allah in front of the Mosque Mimbar that he had surrendered RM 17,000 of the New Mosque saham wakaf to the demise Treasurer. No receipt was available whereas all the other Collectors had theirs.

Since he dare not announce about the Khairat Kematian, he dare not also announce about the takeover by the Mosque Development Bureau. If he did, the congregation would stand up and question about the Khairat Kematian. Deep within the kampong residents, a fire is burning within which he either realized or otherwise. I think he is only his ego is stopping him from stepping down. How far can he go?

The next Mosque Office Bearers election is in 2012. Gosh…..we have to be patience and tolerate till to the date.

Account Closed.

23 June 2010 (Wednesday), after Isyakh when England was struggling to get into the next round of sixteen (16), the defunct New Mosque Development Committee Members opened the two (2) New Mosque Donation Safes in order to close the final account. Prior to the operation, the Mosque Adviser cum Ketua Kampong was informed to witness or alternatively sent a Representative. The Adviser did not attend nor any of his Representative. The modus operandi proceeded as schedule.

From the two (2) Donation Safes the total collected was RM 6617.10. (Six thousand six hundred seventeen and cents ten only). Two days prior, I witnessed Haji Ramlan handed a RM 10,000 (ten thousand) check under the name of MAIS to the former Secretary from a Philanthropist for the New Mosque. Syukur Alhamdullilah.

As soon as the money from the two Donation Safes was accounted for, from nowhere the new elected Chairman of the New Mosque Development Committee, Encik Ekmal appeared and requested the money to be handed to him. Apologetically the former Chairman told him that the money would be banked in into MAIS account and the banking in slip would be officially handed to MAIS together with the comprehensive official account statement during their tenure. (MAIS had provided the Bank account number). That would also include statement of the RM 17,000 (seventeen thousand) which is still unaccounted for by the current Mosque Nazir. I laud the decision as it would be the most appropriate. MAIS is the current Trustee of the New Mosque financial accounts. Encik Ekmal went home empty handed, as the Malay saying “balik handau”.

As at 23 June 2010 at about 2200 hrs, the account of the New Mosque by the former New Mosque Development Committee was officially closed.

The Committee adjourned to the nearest warung for nasi goreng dinner sponsored by the former Chairman with his own expenses, not the money collected from the Donation Safes. I was invited as I was also a Committee Member when it was inaugurated in 2001. I know the thick and thin going through all the various government formalities and political hindrance to get the New Mosque under construction as of today.

England managed to score one (1) goal against Slovenia and secured a place at the next round of 16. Mission accomplished at this stage, so as the former New Mosque Development Committee. I thank all the Committee Members for all the voluntary services rendered and only Allah can repay your sincerity and good deed. Allah knows and saw what your “nawaitu” were. You guys had done your part and hope the new Committee can perform better.

Let’s watch the remaining of the World Cup in peace.

Me.

Pictures imprint a lot of memories and stories.

On my grandmother's lap, naked. Ha ha ha.
(This was taken probably in 1948).

With my grandparents and aunties.

(My leg could never stand straight).

Alone, wearing pound gold necklace.

With my younger brother Mahmud infront of the house where I was born.
(That tricycle was mine).

With my grandmother, a pen tucked at my shirt.

(I love writing since young).

The Grand Oldman.

Tuan Haji Abdul Hamid bin Abdullah. (1905 - 1978).

I was just checking the contents of my old briefcase that I found the above hidden among the papers and bills.

The various passport size photos of my late father, Tuan Haji Abdul Hamid bin Abdullah born in 1905 and called back by Allah on 07 April 1978.

Educated at Clifford School Kuala Kangsar, pre World War 11 and held the position of Penghulu at Lawin Grik, Sungkai, Sungei Manik, Ulu Kinta (Ipoh) and retired at Larut & Matang (Taiping).

At 73 he was well and healthy and he met his fate at Teluk Intan when a stupid "Mat Rempit" knocked him down. The Old Man was wearing the Omega watch that I bought for him in Singapore. That was the best and memorable gift I ever gave to anyone.

He left me no riches and wealth but the wisdom and education bestowed, molded me to be Allah fearing human being. I went through life successfully, no complain and contented. Not so rich and not so poor. I hope at least I can live up to his age.

Bapak...........you are always on my mind and my “doa” for your safe heaven at every of my daily prayers.

Al fatihah.

Inaudible Khutbah.

Khutbah is a rukun in solat Jumaat. It is similar to two (2) rakaat of solat fardhu (compulsory prayer) zohor. Thats why, solat Jumaat only two rakaat. Failing to attend and hear a khutbah, the solat Jumaat is invalid and one has to perform the normal fardhu zohor prayer. That indicates how important the khutbah is.

Friday, June 18, 2010 the khutbah was delivered but the Jemaah could hardly hear what the Imam was delivering due to the cracking of the public address system. This had occurred several times before but the problem was not addressed seriously by the Mosque Committee. In the first instance Senior Mosque Committee do not perform the solat Jumaat at the Mosque as they are mostly working distance away from the Mosque vicinity. They are unaware such problem exist.

The Mosque public address system was donated and refurbished recently by the kampong son with the cost estimated in the region of RM 7,000 – RM 8,000. It should be in perfect condition, loud and clear.

The point here, the responsibilities managing a Mosque is not simply the glamour of holding on to positions. It is a responsibility. It is constant overseeing and tackling the problem soonest as it occurred or analyzing potential problem that may occur. As for the public address system, a little knowledge on the technical aspect is required and periodical servicing is necessity. Personnel to handle the public address system must be brief properly to tackle on spot hiccups and to rectify instantly. The Bilal or the Siak can stand up immediately, walk to the public address system control room and do the necessary adjustment.

The Jemaah just don’t care, looked at each other, completed the solat Jumaat and went home. Why? “Lu pikir lah sendiri”

Khairat Kematian.

Further to posting on above subject dated 04 June 2010.

Reference to the appeal letter stating consequential events by Haji Shamsuddin Razak to ROS Putrajaya on 21 May 2010, the appeal had been considered in principle and a fee of RM 50.00 had been paid to ROS Selangor. The fee was paid in accordance to instruction by ROS Putrajaya. A Meeting was held at ROS Selangor on 17 June 2010 and in most cases appeal of deregistration would be considered after due explainations. Though deregistration took effect on 26 August 2009, it only came to Members knowledge only on 11 May 2010. Within ten (10) days an appeal was submitted to ROS Putrajaya.

Therefore the formation and election of Protem Committee to register the BADAN with ROS under a new name should be put on hold. Since ROS Selangor had notified the Department of Insolvency, ROS Selangor would inform the Department to keep the matter on hold.

As soon as the Interior Minister endorsed ROS Putrajaya recommendation, the Khairat Kematian can operate as per normal and reconvene the suspended AGM.

I pray that all well that would end well and at the end of the day, all goes well and expected well and good (pesangka baik). Let’s not disappoint our long gone elders who started the BADAN way back on 14 January 1969. It was forty one (41) years ago. Al-fathihah to those who are watching from the graves.

Whatever……the account statement from 2003 to 2009 must be accounted for and straighten up. Don’t fool around as it involves monetary donations to ease the burden of a family who lose their love one. Part of the money could belong to an orphan (harta anak yatim). Allah is watching.

To those who would be holding positions at the next AGM, appreciate sincerity on handling this BADAN and treat the 11 May 2010 debacle as a lesson and a boundary stone. The Malay proverb says “If you want to kill the mosquito, you don’t burn down the whole mosquito net”. People around you would say you are bloody stupid idiots and must be banished. Eventually the idiots are capable burning the whole house down.

Understanding Simple Mosque.Terminology.

Mehrab.
(the decor at the wall).

Mehrab and Mimbar.
Kubah.
(The Dome).

Mimbar.
(The pulpit).

Before we want to manage a Mosque, make sure we know the above simple termininology. We should know the difference.
.
Mimbar - Nowadays at most newly constructed Mosques, the staircase is hidden from the Jemaah and the Imam would deliver the khutbah from a piegonhole like mimbar. As the staircase would occupies space it is being eliminated but the purpose of a mimbar is still beimg met. The colourful decorative deco with Islamic khat and the verses from the Holy Koraan surrounds the Mosque wall would sooth the eyes and soul. If its empty, it is just like a prison wall. Mosque is the place where we want to give our heart and soul with full concentration surrendering to Almighty Allah. The place where worshippers must have clean clothings, clean body physically and clean heart. It is strictly forbidden walking with shoes in the Mosque, in order to maintain it cleanliness.
.
No offence to other faiths House of Worship.

A very sunny and bright afternoon at 1500 hrs, I went to take the above pictures. It was against the sun and it did not come out really well. Next time I will do the snapping at 0900 hrs, the perfect timing.

The progress is going on well especially the brick walling. Concreting at certain parts was in progress. Insyaalah by December 2010, it should be completed and enable to accommodate 8000 Jemaah.

The former New Mosque Development Committee had been asked by MAIS & JAIS to take a rest, the polite word to say you are fired. They bowed down gracefully, no quarell and argument. All the funds at all Banks of the New Mosque were transferred to MAIS and they are the Trustees. Perhaps MAIS & JAIS dont trust those who take over, keeping custody of the funds. All the funds had been projected to construct the "mehrab" and a brand new "mimbar", thats the amanat of the Kampong residents and MAIS & JAIS had agreed. The Chairman of present Mosque Development Bureau is taking over and I wish them all the luck. At the same time please learn what "mehrab" means and also refer to the New Mosque Masterplan how and what the new "mimbar" looks like. Its good for your knowledge to head a Bureau. With the baton in their hands, I hope they can tip the finishing tape with triumph.

In the meantime, the former New Mosque Committee can now relax and enjoy the World Cup from South Africa. Let them do the headaches.

Brief History.

Membership Card in 1987.

Drafted Constitution to ROS 1989.

The Kampong Badan Khairat Kematian was formed on 14 January 1969, incorporated under UMNO.

On 4 February 1988 UMNO was considered HARAM, and the Badan Khairat Kematian also doomed.

The fund in the Bank was frozen. To reactivate, the alternative solution was for the BADAN to be registered as a legal society at ROS.

The first Constitution was drafted on 28 November 1989 and signed by late Encik Saleh bin Embi PJK as Secretary and the Yang Di Pertua, late Tuan Haji Adnan bin Chik JP,PPN, PJK.

The BADAN was given a new name -“BADAN KEBAJIKAN DAN BANTUAN KEMATIAN PENDUDUK ISLAM KAMPUNG RAJA UDA, PELABUHAN KELANG”. It was registered with ROS on 19 March 1990 with registration number: 4704/90 (Selangor).

No record of office bearer’s available pre 1997.

1997 – 2000 session.
AGM held on 29 October 2000.

Chairman: Tuan Hj Shamsuddin bin Haj Abd Razak.
Vice Chairman: Hj Abu Bakar bin Bachok.
Acting Secretary: Hj Abd Latif bin Ahmad. (wef 4 May 2000).
Treasurer: Hj Abd Rashed bin Latif.

Appointed along:
Eight (8) Committee Members.
Two (2) Internal Auditors.

No AGM in 1997, 1988 and 199 due to improper Membership record.

2001 – 2002 session.
AGM held on 12 October 2003.

Chairman: Haji Shamsuddin bin Hj Abd Razak.
Vice Chairman: Haji Abu Bakar Bachok.
Secretary: Haji Abd Latif bin Ahmad.
Treasurer: Haji Abdul Rashed bin Latif.

Appointed along:
Seven (7) Committee Members.
Two (2) Internal Auditors.
Two (2) Trustees.

An amount of RM 2615.21 still outstanding from the Chairman of pre 1997 and was recorded in the minute of AGM.

Constitution was revised and presented for approval during this AGM.

2003 – 2008 session.
AGM was held on 29 March 2009.
There was no AGM for six consecutive years).

Chairman: Tuan Hj Abd Rauf bin Hj Solahuddin.
Vice Chairman: Encik Ali Termizi Hussein. – appointed in absentia by the Ketua Kampong.
Secretary: Hj Abd Latif Ahmad.
Treasurer: Hj Abdul Rashed bin Latif.

Appointed along:
Seven (7) Committee Members.
Two (2) Committee Members (additional appointee by Chairman).
Two (2) Internal Auditors.
Two (2) Trustees.

The above AGM was however suspended on the request of Members attended due to irregularities on the presentation of account statement 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008.

The suspended AGM never reconvened.

Currently we are in mid 2010.

The shocking news.

ROS deregistered the “BADAN KEBAJIKAN DAN BANTUAN KEMATIAN PENDUDUK ISLAM KAMPUNG RAJA UDA, PELABUHAN KELANG” effective 26 August 2009. In simple term, it is considered as HARAM.

It was only made known when yours truly got an extract from ROS Shah Alam on 11 May 2010.

It was the second time the Badan Khairat Kematian met its fate at the gallows. The first one was technical and the second was deliberate, irresponsible and miscarriage of responsibilities.

PADAN KAN MUKA ORANG KAMPONG – quoted by one of the Senior Committee Member.
Translation: Serves the Kampong people right. I am sure he has met his objective.

(The rest of the history, please refer to 17 May 2010 and 4 June 2010 posting).

What's the point?

After the Maghreb sunat prayer at the Mosque yesterday, the Chairman of the Protem Committee, Persatuan Islam Penduduk Kampong Raja Uda a newly registered NGO handed me a Membership Form to enroll as Membership.

I flatly rejected and told him straight that yours truly is not interested to be a Member. I have been a resident of this community since July 1977 and I have encountered several misappropriation of fund, neglect of duties, miscarriage of responsibilities, square pegs in round holes and finally deregistration.

All went scot free and live as if nothing had happened. The recent deregistration of the Kampong Khairat Kematian pissed me off and there are quarters who said let’s begin anew and forget about the past. What the hell is going on? It was deliberately done for the sake of personal vendatta to satisfy their ego and it should be no avenue that those specimens responsible be allowed to be grinning away. Perhaps those concern were part of the game. At least a Board of Inquiry should be held to analyze the root cause and a repetition would not reoccur.

From now on, I just want to be a spectator. Perform my Maghreb and Isyakh at the Mosque, the other three at home and forget about the Mosque and the Community politics. Position, yes they are crazy but coming to deliver, flip flop, irresponsible and all sorts of excuses. They still have the cheek to show their faces around. During "Pak Malau" days, the Penghulu would chase them out of the kampong.

The Final in Sepang.

06 June 2010, the Mosque Marhaban Group which represented Klang District clinched third placing among all the Districts in Selangor.

Congratulations for they had gone up, one steps higher than the previous year of fourth places. The effort of practicing every Monday and Wednesday at the Mosque after Isyakh paid off. They should maintain the comrade in arm to excel their performance and recitation.

Due to other engagement, I was unable to attend witness and record their performance.
Insyaalah…….next year we will be Champion.

Klang Mosque.

Shasha.
Agong Birthday Holiday and Shasha wanted to have some fun at the Playground. We decided to avoid the Shopping Complexes as it would be overcrowded. We settled for Tepi Sungai Klang Playground.

The Playground is opposite the riverbank of Sungai Klang where the majestic Klang Mosque stands. I had planned that I would capture the Mosque sceneries at sunset. I am always fascinated with Mosques.
.

Solving solution JAIS way.

On 04 June 2010 at 0900 hrs, JAIS organized a Meeting to solve the New Mosque Development Committee status and the Kampong Raja Uda deregistered Khairat Kematian at Pejabat Agama Islam Daerah (PAID) Meeting Room.

Committee Members of the Kampong Mosque, New Mosque Development and Khairat Kematian were officially invited. Observers from the Kampong residents were encouraged to attend, verbally told by the Ketua Kampong and Vice Chairman of the New Mosque Development Committee. It would be a better idea if they held it in the Kampong Mosque and they would get a better crowd as Observers.

1) New Mosque Development Committee.

Take a rest.

All the Committee Members was asked to take a rest, (the polite way to say you are fired) and the Chairman of Development Bureau from the current Mosque will now be the Chairman of the New Mosque Development Committee, henceforth he would now appoint a brand new set of Committee Members and subsequently the next step and actions taken would be his sole prerogative.

Director of JAIS Letter (instructions) dated 04 February addressed to current Mosque Nazir and Chairman of the former New Mosque Development Committee is considered null and void and the Director will now issue a new standing instruction arising from this Meeting of 04 June 2010. It would be interesting to read how it would be interpreted on paper.

On 20 May 2010, MAIS had transferred the New Mosque account at Bank Muamalat Klang to their account as Trustee. The action perhaps was in anticipation that all the former New Mosque Development Committee was to be laid off as at 04 June 2010. Was the transaction was in good order and according to banking procedure? Only Allah knows and I defer to comment of their actions.

The formal procedure was unable to be complied as the former New Mosque Development Committee was unable to conduct a Meeting since 04 February 2010 as the appointed Chairman from the present Mosque Committee was not then appointed and then he refused to convene one. The former New Mosque Committee failed to come out with a minute of Meeting with the new appointed Chairman to execute the account transfer. Therefore the transfer of account by MAIS at Bank Muamalat Klang, sometimes in 2009 were quite similar to what the present Mosque Senior Committee Members had changed the New Mosque account signatories at Bank Islam Klang. I am not cooking up fairy tales as there was a Polis Report pertaining to the subject matter and rather fair to record the episode for the future generations of Kampong Raja Uda. They would know what transpired in 2009/2010 during the buildup of the New Mosque.

As I see it, the former New Mosque Development Committee had been very patience and tolerant. The New Mosque donation box was locked, the Notice board was removed and the Mosque Meeting Room was out of bound to them, yet they tolerated. MAIS and JAIS did nothing. Then JAIS came out with the idea of appointing the Chairman from the present Mosque Committee and requested that all the fund of the New Mosque to be transferred to MAIS as trustee of which the former New Mosque Committee also in agreement. The present Mosque Committee ran out of idea and they manipulated by stopping the appointed Chairman to conduct a Meeting with the former New Mosque Development Committee. To transfer the fund from Bank Muamalat to MAIS came to a stalemate.

MAIS and JAIS have no more choice except to fire the former New Mosque Development Committee. Would it solve the problem? My answer is yes and no.

Whatever, I am glad and thankful that JAIS accepted the construction of the “mehrab” and the main prayer hall stand fans as proposed by the former New Mosque Development Committee. On this aspect I proudly comment that they have some sense. If there is any change, it is left to their conscience as it is the kampong residents “amanah”, especially the designed “mehrab”.
Take a rest, after all the New Mosque would be ready in eight (8) months time and the tenure of the present Mosque Committee would expire in 2012. Whoever rule the state government at that time is immaterial as the Mosque Committee Members are decided by the residents where DAP votes are discounted. Lessons learnt. The kampong residents will not incur and repeat similar mistake.

The only regret, the former New Mosque Development Committee Members would not be able to accomplish their mission where they had started from ground zero in 2001. From the land acquisition, climbing up and down the State Secretariat Building, facing the Klang District Officer on land matters, liaising with JKR Engineers, land fill, distribute saham certificates for donations, resistance from the present Mosque Committee, personal slandering in the Mosque and you name it. These bunches of people were not paid an allowance to do the donkey job, just for the sake of Allah. They were now just short of eight (8) months away when they were stripped. My sympathy goes to you guys. Whatever, I am sure Almighty Allah would bless their sweat, patience and tears to make the House of Allah a reality, standing mighty in Kampong Raja Uda. To those who stood the path, I am sure Allah knows and we will all bear witness the rightful and the wrong doers. I am proud that I was part of the team from the inauguration of the Committee until I resigned in October 2003 due to health reason.

The quarrel and the squabble are now over and the ball is on their feet. Allah knows everyone “nawaitu” if one is embracing the true teaching of Islam. Let’s put the episodes behind and enjoy the forthcoming World Cup from South Africa. The consolation - you guys don’t carry the headaches anymore. The teething problem is not yours to solve. You had passed the baton and let them do the running to the finishing tape.

2) Khairat Kematian.

The Protem Committee formed on 02 June 2010 headed by Encik Ali Termizi Hussein had been agreed by JAIS and now directly under the supervision and advice by the Ketua Kampong.
Actions of the past are now completely forgotten and now would be in the history book of Kampong Raja Uda. To all those concern my heartiest Congratulation. I am now just adapting to the Protem Chairman famous quotation: Persangka Baik. (Just think well and good). Allah is there to judge.

To conclude, I derived.

I had forgotten which Statesman said this: “When you are in power you choose your own Conductor for the orchestra” but then again I may quote “One cannot cling to power forever”. Even Sadam Hussein finally ended at the gallows and Ariel Sharon perhaps now a vegetable (if he is still breathing).

To the former New Mosque Development Committee Members, be like Nelson Mandela, though he gave up his power and still alive today, the world still respect and recognize him as the world renowned Leader.

Khairat Kematian.

Deregistration of the Khairat Kematian on 26 August 2009 had aroused several sentiments and several steps are being taken by several parties.

The steps were:

1) The former Nazir and past Chairman of the Khairat Kematian had written to the Director of Registrar of Society Putrajaya to appeal to revoke deregistration. Chain of events and sequence leading to the fiasco was explained in details and the Members should not be the ultimate victim.

2) The newly form Kampong Persatuan Islam was informed of deregistration and it was proposed that the Protem Committee was given the task to revive the Khairat Kematian. Perhaps that Committee can take over the administration of the Khairat Kematian and as a registered NGO they can prove to the kampong residents their capabilities.

3) The Chairman and Vice Chairman of the defunct Khairat Kematian organized a Meeting on 2 June 2010 to seek mandate from the Members how to revive the Khairat Kematian.

Meeting on 2 June 2010.

1) The Meeting was chaired by Hj Shamsuddin Razak, the former Chairman of Khairat Kematian 2001-2003 sessions. He later briefed the Members that he had written an appeal letter to the Authorities.

2) The Chairman and the Vice Chairman of the defunct Khairat Kematian had personally met ROS Selangor and directed them to the Department of Insolvency as ROS Selangor had written to the Department of Insolvency however they had not received the letter as yet. They were told that the matter is non priority. Consequently they were later contacted by JAIS to attend a Meeting at Pejabat Agama Islam Daerah Klang on 4 June 2010 to discuss on the current Khairat Kematian issue.

3) The proposal tabled at the 02 june 2010 Meeting was to form a new NGO under the name of “Badan Bantuan Kematian, Penduduk Islam Kampong Raja Uda” (BADAN) and to transfer the account in the deregistered Khairat Kematian to the new proposed. The Vice Chairman seeks for the Members mandate and if agreeable, the Members were requested to appoint a Protem Committee to address the issues to revive the Khairat Kematian.

Item 3 was accepted unanimously by the Members presence and the following were elected:

Chairman: Encik Ali Termizi bin Hussein.
Secretary: Encik Aziz.
Treasurer: Encik Rahim Mydin.
Committee Members: Tuan Haji Nazri.
Encik Mohd Baderi @ Wahab.
YM Raja Maizan.
Two Internal Auditors: (to be appointed).

Note: The secretary and the Treasurer of the defunct Khairat Kematian did not attend the Meeting. The Ketua Kampong was presence and hosted dinner to some after the Meeting.

There were several issues raised whether the present activities of the Khairat Kematian can proceed as per normal? The Chairman said that it would be and the Protem Committee appointed would hold office until a new Registration is approved by ROS.

Personally I have no comment what the Protem Committee going to do and I would just go along by it and supportive to all their actions. I would not get myself involve directly. I have witnessed several misappropriations of fund and duty in the kampong which went scot free and I do not want to be part of the party.

The New Mosque Development Committee met on 1 June 2010 at JKKK(P) 20 footer Container without the newly appointed Chairman from the Mosque Committee, though informed and invited. Also missing was the Adviser, the Ketua Kampong. Permission was not granted to use the Mosque Meeting Room and the JKKK Meeting Room allegedly occupied as per the Ketua Kampong. It was chaired by the Vice Chairman. Whatever………..a Meeting can be held anywhere even under a tree as Nizar, the ex Menteri Besar of Perak had done in Ipoh before.
.
The meeting was in preparation for a meeting at JAIS on 04 June 2010 at Pejabat Agama Islam Daerah (PAID) Meeting Room. The Meeting was informed that MAIS had transferred the New Mosque account at Bank Muamalat Klang effective 20 May 2010 under their Trustee. The Committee would get further clarification and confirmation during the 04 June 2010 meeting.
.
I am glad that the construction of the New Mosque is running smoothly even though certain party still show discontentment. If weather permits, it should be ready by December 2010. I am sad and disappointed with all the happenings but Allah is surely kind with all good and noble intention (nawaitu). Whatever circumstances we are in, certain respect and leeway should be given to those who started and slogged from ground zero.
.
I just pray and doa that we all get to pray in the New Mosque come December 2010.
