MAIS/JAIS had inspected the New Mosque on 22 May 2012 and the handover to the kampong tentatively on 04 June 2012. Theoretically MAIS/JAIS is satisfied with all the constructions and infrastructures as per Building Contract. There a several things to be done however and up to the Mosque Committee to apprehend especially basic equipments which is not being provided in the construction budget.

I entered the New Mosque complex on 23 June 2012 with with Haji Khairuddin (Imam 2) and Haji Mat Jebah (Imam 4), basically the two Imams wanted to survey the “Bilek Jenazah” to facilitate the room when the new Mosque commences operational.

The steel framing and the tinted glasses of the arches around the Mosque courtyard was completed and the workers would be addressing the anjung utama (main entrance) arches. Workers were also seen cleaning and polishing the floors.

Up to date, three (3) pillar oscillating fans and seven (7) pieces of the drain cast iron gratings had been stolen. Question of night Watchmen of the Mosque Complex would be a serious agenda after the handover. That would be the Committee’s headache.

On the very same day, 23 May 2012, MAIS/JAIS/PAID/Ketua Kampong are deciding on the Mosque Nazir position for 2012 – 2015 terms. The result would be out sometimes next week, insyallah. Currently it remains secretive and sensitive issue. This is one position where the outcome is excitedly waited by all the kampong kariah. Names forward for selection were: Haji Samsuddin Razak 99 votes, Haji Ismail Arshad 66 votes and Ustaz Ali Termizi 8 votes. Anyone of the three can be selected and I am least surprise if the least votes would be returned. That’s how the system works. The Enactment states so. Is it democracy? You decide. I remain just a registered “anak kariah” and I had performed my right as a voter for the most eligible candidate to the best of my sane judgment and mentality which Allah bestowed. Human decides and Allah fated.
