A Long Day.

21.5.2015: Soon as I arrived at Almukminin Office in Shah Alam at 1115 hrs, I was summoned to go downstairs immediately as Haji Mokhdzar and Syam was waiting in the car.

I hopped in and the destination was Putrajaya to attend Bumitra Seminar at PICC (Putrajaya International Convention Center). I wasn’t dressed formally and I decided not to enter Seminar Hall 1, instead to linger around PICC, my first time being there.

Haji Mokhdzar took the wheel and went cross country by taking a long route to Putrajaya via Jalan Kebun, Klang Banting Road, Banting KLIA Highway heading for Dengkil passing through Telok Panglima Garang. I just sat quietly and enjoy the sceneries along the bumpy route. I did not know what was his plan.

Suddenly he broke journey at Dengkil town for lunch, of all places. The once upon a time the Cowboy town is now bustling after its neighbors, Putrajaya and KLIA developed. We entered Restoran Bunga Cengkih and the name sounds odd to me. It was really odd as ordered menu was served in clay pot. We ordered “smoked beef masak lemak cilia api”, “duck egg masak lemak cilia api”, (both in clay pot) mixed vegetable and rice served with sambal belacan with few slices of cucumber. It was very appetizing but I refused second helping as I normally practice light lunch.

We arrived at PICC at 1400 hrs and straight away to the Surau for my zohor prayer. Haji Mokhdzar registered for the Seminar while Syam and I decided to linger around. At the Lobby, there were long line of gentleman formally dressed lining up on both sides of a red carpet. Soon I learnt Cabinet Ministers and the Prime Minister would be arriving. Sirens blared as Cabinet Ministers in line were arriving. Finally the Prime Minister himself arrived with all the Police cars and escorts. We just watched from a distant and we also knew the Police and the Special Branch were watching us too.

Thereafter passing the time, I recorded my presence at PICC and took several angles shots of Putrajaya down below from PICC. I really adore Putrajaya layout and proud of its existence. From Prang Besar Palm Oil Estate transformed to the main Administrative Center of the Nation. Thank you Tun Mahathir, even though off late, his statements send chilled down my spine. As of Putrajaya, I take off my hat, the pride of Malaysia.

It was time for asar and we adjourned to the Surau again. After prayer I sat down at the row of chairs at the Surau entrance and suddenly one familiar faces approached and sat beside me. He picked up conversation as he was buckling his shoe after performing his asar prayer. He was the Minster in the Prime Minister Department, Dato Seri Abdul Wahid bin Omar. He politely asked me the program I was attending at PICC. My humble reply was escorting a friend attending the Bumitra function. He acknowledged he knew about it and commented that he saw several attendees. Inquisitively, I asked him why the Ministers including the Prime Minister were around at PICC. He told me that the Cabinet is having a “Think Tank” session prior to a Cabinet Meeting postponed to Friday due to the Parliamentary session last Wednesday. Personally I find that he is down to earth, Allah fearing, soft spoken and polite. We shook hands and he made his way to Seminar Hall 2.

Datuk Seri Abdul Wahid Omar - Minister at PM Dept.
Syam and I sat down for tea at the nearby Restaurant until Haji Mokhdzar absconded from the Seminar at 1700 hrs.

Arrived at Shah Alam at 1725 hrs, picked up my Rolls Royce and headed home base Port Klang.

Phew!!!..................it was a long day all right, even my hand phone battery drained off. The consolation, I came face to face with a Cabinet Minister.
