Been away from Selangor.

Karl Helmy and I had been running around in Perak for the last few days. My nephew cum Navigator, Shakimi also joined the frantic search all over the Government Offices, Legal Firms and the Banks.

It was about the recent demise of Karl’s Father and Grandmother. Simultaneously I took the opportunity to sort out things wherever possible of my late Father long overdue left behind properties since he passed away way back in 1978. It was timely that I had one property transaction to be executed in Ipoh.

Overall we covered Batu Gajah, Bota, Chenderoh and Slim River. Ipoh was our base especially the Land Office where original documents were archived. We entered into the hinterland meeting people to allocate the estates. The lack of documents was our main hiccup and we relied on hearsay and the sincerity of individuals. The respective District Land Office was our source of reference. Surprisingly it was very convenient to do business with them as they were very accommodating compared to business dealing with Land Offices in Selangor. It was a walked in affair, no crowd and we don’t have to be numbered and waited in line. We started daily at about 0900 hrs and packed up the day at about 1700 hours. At night we met for “teh tarik” to lay up the following day programmed.

We had laid all the ground work, collect all facts and the outcome would be finalized between six months to a year, hopefully. It is expected off with all Government formalities and procedures. Somebody has to start, that’s the most importance, taking into consideration that the soul of the demise would not be appease if the debt and estates is not settle or distributed to the rightful Receivers and Recipients according to the Islamic Law.

As for Karl Helmy, I really appreciate that that this young man takes the pain to settle at the very earliest so that he can carry on with his life and bear no more headaches. As for my transaction I have to wait for the approval within a month. Once approved, I have to return to the same Land Office to be interviewed by the authorities to finalize the transaction. The lone transaction is to avoid future headache as I am having enough about my late father estates left behind since 1978.

With all the frantic running of Karl Helmy, Shakimi Saleh and I, I therefore seek Allah blessings that all would end well for the good of all concern. Sometimes it is not worth having properties when it is not pass over when alive or the very least tell it to any of the family members when one is still alive. We never know when Allah come calling to return to the Almighty. It would be an unnecessary burden to those alive and it becomes an obligation whether we like it or not. Whatever, the obligation is an “amal jariah” and someone is obliged to fulfill. Failing which, ALL concern has to face Allah on “Judgment Day”.
