Getting there.

MU needs at least 4 points with three games in hand. Liverpool just behind the shoulders with two games in hand and incase MU falter, Liverpool would overtake MU to the finishing line. Early this morning MU played Wigan away at JJB Stadium. This game was closely monitored by MU fans as well as Liverpool.

MU sends in their strong strikers, Ronaldo, Rooney and Berbatov. The pitch was wet and slippery as it was raining and somehow MU game did not click. Their passes were not accurate and their targets went astray. Rooney missed an open goal and MU should be two up within the first fifteen minutes. MU back was a little bit flimsy without Ferdinand and Evan was often beaten on the break. On one of Wigan attack, Vidic slipped in front of the goalmouth and the ball landed into MU net. Wigan was one up till half time.

During the second half, Tevez was brought in and in no time he made a spectacular footwork in front of Wigan goal and put the ball in. Now it was level. With Tevez and Ryan Giggs joining in the team the flow of the game was more to MU. Carrick scored from a beautiful interchange started by Ronaldo on the right side. Now MU was up by 2 – 1 and the score remained. I am sure Liverpool hope was shattered. Three more points in the bag and MU just need one more from a home game with Arsenal and away with Hull.

I think it should be no problem and MU would retain the BPL Cup again for 2008/ 2009 season.
