I noticed something interesting.

The focus is on Van Jenazah again. Wak Salim attracted my attention that the word “Masjid” from “Masjid Kampong Raja Uda” written on both sides of the Van jenazah had been removed. The only word remaining on both sides is “Kampong Raja Uda” only. The removal of the word “Masjid” is most appropriate as the Van Jenazah does not belong to the Mosque. The Saham Wakaf Committee was just wanted to portray the good image of the Kampong Mosque, that’s why they wrote the Lettering as if it belongs to the Mosque.

The newly elected Mosque Committee apparently do not know the history and background of the Van jenazah and upon elected they insist that the Van Jenazah to be put under their portfolio. They were blinded with what was written on the Van Jenazah side body. Realising their mistake, the Mosque Committee passed over to the JKKK which is also inappropriate. Two wrongs cannot make a right. During one of the Kampong Resident Meeting I suggested that the word “Masjid” to be removed from the Van Jenazah body to portray the actual position that the Van Jenazah has nothing to do with the Mosque. I am delighted that it had been implemented and thank you Mr Chairman of the Saham Wakaf Kampong. The first step had been taken.

The Kampong residents actually do not bother who take care of the Van Jenazah. The problem was the way it was taken and the arrogance of the people involved in the takeover that stir the sentiments of the residents. The Driver in the first instance must be someone respected, humble and environmental friendly within the society. The Van Jenazah should never be made as a source of income. The charges for utilising the Van Jenazah have a Guideline and special preference to be given to Members and to the poor. It cannot be charged as to the whim and fancy of the Driver. Do they follow the Guideline? The family of a deceased divorcee was charged RM 200 when the maximum should be only RM 80 if not even free due to the family local standing.

The expired road tax and where the Registration Card was kept was another issue that shows there was no proper management. They could not renew the road tax because the Registration Card was misplaced. It reflects on the poor and lacking of management experience of the Ketua Kampong who also fail to comprehend the rightful Caretaker of the Van Jenazah. Why? He is the local PAS Chief and DAP appointed Ketua Kampong. These people never had the opportunity to be in power and once in power they tend to grab everything, irrational and way beyond explanations.

Presently the usual Kampong harmony is eroding. Insyaalah all efforts are being made to put back the wagons on the right track. The Kampong cannot afford to have a couple of specimens in the Kampong just for the sake of vengeance to disrupt the community advancement.
