The last day of English Premier League.

22 May 2011 - the last game of the English Premier League for 2010/2011 season.

Before the final game, Manchester United had been declared as Champion and West Ham United one of the three relegated.

Game on 22 May 2011.

Aston Villa 1 Liverpool 0.

Bolton 1 Manchester City 2.

Everton 1 Chelsea 0.

Fulham 2 Arsenal 2.

Manchester United 4 Blackpool 2.

Newcastle 3 WBA 3.

Stoke City 0 Wigan 1.

Totenham 2 Birmingham 1.

West Ham United 0 Sunderland 3.

Wolves 2 Blackburn 3.

The Mission:

At the top, it was all about the placing of 2nd to 5th for automatic qualification for European Cup playoff next season. Liverpool and Totenham battled for the 5th placing. Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City had already qualified.

At the bottom table, Blackburn, Wolves, Birmingham, Blackpool and Wigan were not saved and they must go for a win to remain in the Premier League.

The Final Outcome:

2nd – Chelsea.

3rd – Manchester City.

4th – Arsenal.

5th – Totenham Hotspur.

Liverpool not qualified for European Cup 2011/2012 season. They made a late buy in and too late to catch up. Perhaps the team to watch next season provided Liverpool replaces the current Goalkeeper. Reina is oversize and do not have enough height and reach.

Chelsea was the biggest loser of the season. They paid handsomely for Torres from Liverpool and Torres could only score a goal. Waste of fund and Liverpool benefited from the sell out. They brought in two (2) good players from the sale and they made good recovery to sit at 6th placing.

Relegated:

Birmingham, Blackpool and West Ham United.

The Super Sunday Game:

Manchester United vs Blackpool. MU won 4 – 2 and Blackpool said good bye to the Premier League. Last Premier League for Van der Sar and both goals that passed him was the bottom goal post right and left upright. Goals by MU was Park Ji Sung, Anderson, Micheal Owen and an own goal by Evett.

At the end MU received the Barclay Cup and the Premier League season for 2010/2011 came to a close.

The above Cup belong to Manchester United.
