The Quarter Final.

The world Cup is in the quarter final stage and the eight teams qualified are one (1) from Africa, three (3) from Europe and four (4) from Latin America. Asia represented by Japan, South Korea and North Korea failed.

The big name that was eliminated in the world Cup was Italy, France, England and Denmark. The host nation, South Africa also failed.

In the quarter final, Brazil would meet the Dutch, Argentina meet the Germans, Spain meeting Paraguay and Uruguay with Ghana.

My prediction, Brazil, Argentina, Spain and Uruguay would go through.
My disappointment, I did not see much of Messi and Ronaldo, the two world top footballers. I am glad Tevez of Argentina showed his color and he proved Sir Alex Furgueson wrong for discarding him to Manchester City. Tevez second goal against Mexico was a gem.

The standard of the Referees is not better than the previous World Cup in 2006. Controversial decisions still exist and the unnecessary card flashing. Football is no more interesting when ten (10) men against eleven (11) on the field. Red card should only be shown when someone is being stretchered and never make back to the field. Some players made good actors on the field and convince the Referee. The best solution is to apply electronic technology and the Assistant Referee at the bye line can authenticate whether the foul was blatantly committed or otherwise from the various cameras planted around the field including from the top.

The game between England and Germany could have ended differently if the goal scored by Frank Lampard was detected by the Referee or his Assistant. The whole world saw it as a goal counted vide video visual except the two (2) guys on the field. England leveled the score at 2 – 2, not counted and Germany finished the game at 4 – 1 on the scoreboard.

There are seven (7) games to be played and we would watch more dramas on the field.
